Localisation of the single-particle states in nuclear fission

The constrained calculation with the Gogny forces is used in investigation of the fission of ^{258}Fm. The single-particle energy spectrum is analysed in the both modes of the bimodal fission. Density distributions of single nucleons show that the cores of the fragments are well separated far before the scission point.
