Statistical approach to the nuclear pairing problem

The behavior of exact solutions of the nuclear pairing problem in some model spaces is examined for a number of randomly chosen single-particle states. Interesting features seem to appear allowing to suggest an alternative to the diagonalization procedure, within a good approximation.
