Compressibility, effective mass and density dependence in new Skyrme forces

Relation between compressibility, effective mass and the density dependence of an effective force is well known and have been especially studied through Skyrme force. We have investigated the possibility opened by a general density dependence in each term of the standard Skyrme effective interactions. We have shown that the choice of a standard Skyrme effective force with an enlarged density dependence based on two terms enables to decorrelate the compression modulus and the effective mass in symmetric nuclear matter and gives a reasonable equation of state for symmetric nuclear matter as well as for pure neutron matter.
